Packers-Bears: Player notes

Injury updates, news on individuals from each team

-- NT Ryan Pickett tested his strained groin at the start of practice Thursday but was held out of contact work for the second straight day. Pickett is questionable to play Sunday at Chicago. Rookie Justin Harrell would make his first start if the team exercises caution with Pickett.

-- SLB Brady Poppinga was afflicted with an illness and didn't practice Thursday. He was added to the injury report, though there weren't any indications that Poppinga would be in jeopardy of not playing in the game.

-- CB Jarrett Bush went through the full practice Thursday and has pronounced himself ready to return to action after missing the last game because of a strained calf. Bush has been the nickel back since the start of the season, but he could be part of a rotation at the spot with Frank Walker, Tramon Williams and Will Blackmon on Sunday.

-- TE Bubba Franks doesn't appear likely to be activated this weekend for the first time since he suffered a sprained knee Oct. 14. Franks has done little in practice the last two days.

-- QB Aaron Rodgers is expected to be deactivated as the No. 3 quarterback for a third straight game. He isn't fully recovered from a strained hamstring. Craig Nall would remain the backup to Brett Favre.

-- LB Tracy White was a full participant Thursday and seems to be in better shape after missing the last two games because of a lingering ankle injury. He told that he is "90 percent sure" he will play on Sunday.

-- S Aaron Rouse had limited work for a second straight day as he copes with a sore shoulder. The No. 3 safety, though, is preparing to play Sunday.

-- DE Mark Anderson missed a second straight day of practice and is not expected to play Sunday.

-- CB Nate Vasher (knee) missed a second straight day of practice but said he's "definitely" playing Sunday, although he said his chances last week were "slim to none," and he played nearly every snap while getting his first pick of the season after missing 10 straight games with a groin injury.

-- LB Lance Briggs (hip) missed a second straight day of practice on Thursday but is expected to play Sunday.

-- RS/WR Devin Hester returned to full practice on Thursday after missing a day with a shin injury.

-- QB Kyle Orton's last start against Green Bay was just over two years ago, when he completed six of 17 passes for 68 yards, one interception and a passer rating of 23.7 while being sacked three times.
