Roster moves

The Green Bay Packers waived fifth-year defensive end Jared Tomich, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Tuesday. A replacement for Tomich on the 53-man roster was not immediately named.<p>

In his second stint with the team, Tomich re-signed with the Packers November 6. He made an appearance Sunday at Minnesota, chasing down Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper and forcing a fumble late in the third quarter that Minnesota recovered.

Tomich was first signed to the Packers' roster Jan. 2, 2002, but was inactive for the 2001 regular season finale and subsequent postseason games. Returning to training camp in July, he posted 7 total tackles including 2 quarterback sacks in the team's four preseason games, before being waived in the team's final roster cutdown, Sept. 1.
