Johnny Quinn Q&A

Wide receiver on his interests away from football, like Halo, hockey, food

Question: When do you realize you wanted to play in the NFL?
Johnny Quinn: "Ever since I was little. When I first started watching football as little as I can remember, I knew I wanted to play in the NFL. I knew it took a lot of hard work and dedication. It's always been a dream of mine."

Q: As a serious Halo player (note: Quinn placed in the top 16 of the National Halo Tournament), what's the key to success for those gamers out there?
JQ: "Strategy. It comes down to strategy. If you get a bunch of good players, everybody can shoot a BR, everybody can shoot weapons or throw grenades. But can you get to the power weapons? Can you hold the power weapons? Can you exploit their weakest link? It really comes down to strategy with all the good players."

Q: What was your favorite sports team growing up?
JQ: "Pittsburgh Penguins. I was really big into hockey. I was born in Harrisburg, Penn. and I was real big into hockey. They had a good run (last year). Hopefully, they'll be able to bring one home."

Q: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
JQ: "Jerry Rice. That's pretty synonymous for all receivers, isn't it?"

Q: If you weren't playing football, what would you be doing?
JQ: "Probably coaching. I've invested a lot of time into football. It's the only thing I can think about doing and not considering it working."

Q: Favorite food?
A: "Mexican. I'm from Texas. Tex Mex. It's some good stuff."

Q: What's your dream vacation?
A: "Sitting on a beach and not having to worry about anything."

Q: What's your favorite and least favorite things about Green Bay?
JQ: "Lambeau Field is phenomenal and the fan support. It was just OTAs and they're out there before practice and you see them after practice. It's unbelievable. And obviously, being from Texas, the weather would have to be the least like."

Q: What's your favorite TV Show?
JQ: "(ESPN) SportsCenter and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Q: Favorite Will Ferrell skit?
JQ: "I only really saw Anchorman, but I like when he did the preview skit before the USC and Texas championship game when he was going back and forth with Matt McConaughey. That was hilarious. He is a funny dude."
Q: Favorite comedian/actor?
JQ: "I like Chris Rock. Wait. Jim Carrey. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is my favorite movie. Jim Carrey's my man."

Q: If you could have dinner with any five people in the history of time, who would it be?"
JQ: "Jesus, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin."
