This Sunday, when the Green Bay Packers face the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, Favre seeks to improve upon his December mark and move closer to Joe Montana in second place in the category.

Following are the QBs with the best December records since 1970 (minimum 20 starts): Joe Theismann, Washington (17-5, .773 ); Montana, San Francisco (33-10, .767); Favre (Green Bay, 31-10, .756); Mark Brunell (Jacksonville, 16-7, .696); Steve McNair (Tennessee, 17-8 .680)

Bearing down on Bears

Favre has thrown a touchdown pass in 21 consecutive games against his opponent this Sunday, the Bears, the second-longest streak since 1970 versus an opponent. Favre, who earlier this year moved into third place in NFL history in TD passes, seeks to move closer to Dan Marino's mark of 24 games in a row with a touchdown pass against a single opponent (New York Jets). The longest streaks of consecutive games with a touchdown pass against one opponent (since 1970): Dan Marino, Miami (NY Jets, 24); Favre, Green Bay (Chicago, 21); Dan Fouts, San Diego (Oakland/L.A., 17); Montana, San Francisco (Atlanta, 15); Steve Grogan, New England (Indianapolis, 14).
