From publisher: Pack chat tonight!

Our next chat is Monday night; results from our Brett Favre poll; preview of next Packer Report magazine.

Hello, Packers fans!

There's a bit of a lull in the action over at 1265 Lombardi Ave. The draft and rookie camp are complete, and organized team activities don't start until late this month.

So, thankfully, it's Brett Favre to the rescue to fill the void. Well, actually, I haven't forgotten about the players on the actual roster. Who will be the odd man out in a crowded group of linebackers? Is the change in defenses the break Justin Harrell needs? Or will an undrafted rookie be good enough to take his roster spot?

Those are just a few of the stories we've produced recently, and we'll have more in the coming days. Such as: Why will undrafted Tyrell Sutton win a job at running back? Is Green Bay changing direction on offense? Do late-round draft picks Jarius Wynn, Brandon Underwood and Brad Jones have a chance to make an impact?

While I understand the furor over Favre, we've been the only Packers site talking about today's players.

I'll be in the chat room for my usual every-other-Monday chat. If you're a Packer Report subscriber, join me at 7 p.m. Central on Monday, May 11. And if you're not a subscriber, what are you waiting for?

OK, about that other guy ...

Brett Favre is on the minds of Packers fans, for obvious reasons. A few days ago, we asked you what you would do if Favre signed with the Vikings.

The results were surprising. The most-extreme option — "Hope Favre fails miserably, and he'll never be forgiven" — received the most votes, 32.3 percent. The next two options — "Hope Favre fails miserably, but time heals all wounds" and "Cheer for Favre, but not against the Packers" — tied at 25.4 percent apiece. The other option — "Jump on the Vikings' bandwagon, baby!" — garnered 17 percent of the vote.

What surprised me — I'm not sure why — is the two most-extreme positions attracted about half of the vote.

The poll is still open. Feel free to vote and share your views in our forums.

Packer Report magazine

I wrapped up our latest Packer Report magazine a few days ago. About half of the 64-page magazine will be dedicated to the draft, with fresh quotes and fresh features on the draft picks.

Our Tom Andrews also breaks new ground on the Ice Bowl with a stunning revelation from one of the Cowboys. I feature the most unlikely of Pro Football Hall of Famers, Art Daley writes about the unusual tie between two of the biggest thieves in Packers history and we go behind the scenes with NFL Films' Greg Cosell. Plus, we have a two-page color graphic of the Packers' schedule.

For subscription information, click here. Or, if you live in the Green Bay area, Packer Report is sold in the Packers Pro Shop and a few other businesses located around the stadium (Card & Coin Corner and the Citgo, Shell and Express gas stations).

And as always, we'd love a photo of you Fan-Tastic Packer Backers. Send a nonreturnable photo to Melissa Dill, 2003 Sylvan Drive, Green Bay, WI 54313; or e-mail one to me at the link below.

As always, thanks for reading, and Go Pack Go!
