This year, the Packers will play five preseason games because they are scheduled to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 4 on Monday Night Football. The Chiefs are the only team that the Packers will play against during the regular season.
In Week 1 (Aug. 7-11), the Packers will travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons. They follow that up with a trip to Cleveland in Week 2 (Aug. 14-18) to face the Browns.
Green Bay will play its first home game of the preseason in Week 3 (Aug. 21-25) when it hosts the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field, and close out the preseason (Aug. 28-31) at home against Tennessee.
The Hall of Fame Game will be played on ABC-TV at 7 p.m. CT. The Packers and the Chiefs faced each other in the first Super Bowl.
Under a new broadcasting partnership announced Monday, Packers exhibitions not selected to be aired nationally will be televised by Green Bay's WFRV-TV in conjunction with Milwaukee's WTMJ-TV over an expanded, eight-station network throughout the state of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, with CBS network production, personnel and the latest network quality technology. In addition to WFRV and WTMJ, the games will be televised over WKOW/ABC, Madison, Wis.; WAOW/ABC, Wausau/Rhinelander, Wis.; WXOW/ABC, La Crosse, Wis.; WQOW/ABC, Eau Claire; WYOW/ABC, Eagle River, Wis.; and WJMN/CBS, Marquette, Mich. The dates and kickoff times for these contests will be announced later.
