Linebacker visits with Packers

Linebacker Charlie Clemons, an unrestricted free agent, is expected to visit with the Green Bay Packers today, according to reports.<p>

Clemons will meet with the Packers today, the Houston Texans on Tuesday, and then the Kansas City Chiefs, according to various reports.

Clemons, a middle linebacker whose play dipped last season with the Saints after making 13 1/2 sacks two seasons ago, exercised a clause in his contract Feb. 28 that allowed him to void the final year and become a free agent.

The Saints have no plans to re-sign the 6-foot-2, 250 pounder. Clemons went from a team-leading 13 1/2 sacks and 123 tackles in '01 to a half-sack and 58 tackles last season. He had six tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup in New Orleans' win over the Packers last year.
