No... On paper this seems to be a good match. But in reality it isn't, especially for Newton. Newton left Florida, because he could not get out of the shadows of Tebow. Now you want to bring him in to always make Newton wonder if Tebow is sneaking up from behind his back? No thank you
I Don't Usually Punch My Teammates, But When I Do, I Make Sure It's Ken Lucas.....
Tebow does have a skill set. I just don't think its at QB. He is best when he is running the ball. If he would be open to taking another position then I think he would find an NFL roster.... as a FB or TE maybe even a LB if he was willing to play on special teams for a year or two while he learned the position.
I think its fair to say that if you can't make it as a Jet's backup QB, then your NFL career as an NFL QB is over.
I think you guys all have a narrow field of vision and I see it every time someone suggests a "out there" player.
There will be NO media circus. That was in NY the Heart of Media land.
Second Tebow has more play off wins than any QB on the Panthers bench since Jake left. HE IS a NFL QB, a case can be made that Tim started the Read Option trend that we see being used in the NFL today.
Rex frakked up Tim's career, Rex knew if he played Tim in those final games of last year when he benched Sanchez and Tim did better he would be in a world of hurt so he put the 3rd stringer in.
This team needs to step out of its comfort boots and full body Snuggie and start looking beyond the so called "problem" players and start picking them up.
Denver is far from a media Capitol and it was a circus there. The media is completely fixated on him and there would be a large influx of otherwise disinterested "writers" and such here to chronical his every move.
I honestly think NE makes sense.
"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. "
