DT Dewayne Robertson, Kentucky 6-3 310
Robertson made 48 tackles and registered 5 sacks despite being double-teamed many times. He has a great bust off the line of scrimmage. He is very strong and power and is able to bull rush offensive linemen. He has great quickness and can make plays in the backfield. Robertson explodes with a great burst and has a very quick first step. He is a better-run stopper then a pass rusher but if he gets more one-on-one opportunities could develop in to a good pass rusher from the inside. He has great size and does well against the double team and can be a one or two gap man in the NFL. He doesn't have great overall speed and doesn't pursue like you would like him sometimes. That might have to do something with his conditioning and need to get into better shape to be dominating defensive linemen.
Fit with the Panthers: Robertson would be a great fit with the Panther defense and defensive line. If the Panthers draft him he wouldn't face many double teams because of Julius Peppers, Mike Rucker, and Kris Jenkins. He would have the ability to replace Brentson Buckner in the starting line-up and give the Panther a young but very talented defensive line. Depending on who is available with the Panther draft at the number 9 pick will depending if the Panther draft Robertson.
