Cam Newton angry about latest loss

In the past, the Panthers had quarterbacks that wouldn't show emotion when they lost or made a mistake. Those days are certainly over now.

In the past, the Panthers had quarterbacks that wouldn't show emotion when they lost or made a mistake.

Those days are certainly over now.

"You play the game to win it obviously; we just have to find a way," a dejected Cam Newton said after Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears.

"We had plenty of opportunities to capitalize but the good thing is that we were extremely close. We had some guys battling offensively and defensively, but we just have to find a way."

A reporter asked Newton why he was angry.

"You aren't supposed to be smiling and giggling after you lose," Newton said. "I've never had the mentality of losing my whole life, and for a person to tell me you can't win them all, that's a loser's mentality."

"I play the game and I want to win every single game I play so obviously, it hurts when I lose, but it's just not me. We have guys on your team and you know they are giving it all they got. For me, to some degree, I feel like I've let some teammates down, but just to look in those guys eyes each and every play and know that those guys are battling, it just works wonders for our whole team, and this chemistry."
