Panthers Friday Injury Update

The Carolina Panthers have been hit hard by the injury bug this year. After missing two out of the first three games DeAngelo Williams returned last week against Baltimore. The return to the football field was short-lived as he has already been ruled out for the game against Chicago. The question is who will be joining him on the sidelines Sunday?

Notes

  • The Panthers will most likely be without both of their top two running backs with DeAngelo Williams already ruled out and Jonathan Stewart doubtful. Stewart was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice but sat out Thursday and Friday.
  • The team should get a boost on the defensive side of the ball with Charles Johnson and Thomas Davis likely to play against the Bears. Johnson missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but went through the full practice on Friday. Davis was a full participant all week so probable at this point just seems like a formality.
  • TE Ed Dickson is one player who has gotten worse as the week went on from not being on the injury report on Wednesday to not practicing today due to a hip injury. I would expect he sits this one out against Chicago.
