Notes

  • I expected Trai Turner to see much more playing time after coming back from injury that has kept him out for a few weeks now. The coaching staff had a short lease on Turner, who on the very first play for the offense missed his assignment who came in clean for a hard hit on Cam Newton. It will be interesting to see who sees more playing time after the bye week between Chris Scott and Turner.
  • Another surprise was how much Fozzy Whittaker played against the Atlanta Falcons, particularly late in the game. Jonathan Stewart was on the field for seven more snaps than DeAngelo Williams but got three less carries. After the bye week, the Panthers are expected to have Mike Tolbert back and the coaching staff is going to have to come up with a plan on how to divide up the carries.

Notes

  • The revolving door at the cornerback position opposite Josh Norman continued to spin against the Atlanta Falcons. This time it was Antoine Cason who got the start and played every snap, while Melvin White who started in Week 10 didn’t see the field once.
  • Colin Jones continues to see a number of snaps at the nickelback position however with Bene Benwikere expected back soon, that number is sure to drop.
