Panthers' Injury Report for Week 16

The Carolina Panthers look like they will be close to full strength on Sunday when they take on the Cleveland Browns. The biggest question mark entering this week was whether or not Cam Newton would be ready to go this week. Those concerns have seemed to disappear with Newton going through full practice on Thursday and Friday.

Notes

  • The news got better as the week went on for Cam Newton and his chances to play on Sunday. On Friday he went through his second full practice and Coach Ron Rivera feels good about Newton starting but didn't want to make it officially name him the starter.
  • The news doesn't look as good for running back DeAngelo Williams, who is still dealing with a broken bone in his hand. He was listed as questionable on the injury report but was limited in practice all week. With how well Jonathan Stewart has played the past few games, there is no reason to rush Williams back onto the field.
  • Cornerback Carrington Byndom was added to the injury report today after missing his first practice this week with a hamstring injury. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns.
