Jan. 24-Senior Bowl (Mobile, Ala.)
The stars of college football will play one more game before taking their talents to the NFL. This game is not so much an All-Star game as it is the unofficial kick-off of Draft season. NFL teams usually send a large group to watch key prospects that they have seen on tape this past season.
Feb. 7-NFL Regional Combine (Davie, Fla.)
This is the first day of five regional combines, which is for draft-eligible athletes who were not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The other four are Feb. 14 (Houston), Feb. 21 (Dove Valley, Colo.), Feb. 28 (Owings Mills, Md.) and Mar. 7 (Lake Forest, Ill.)
Feb. 16- NFL teams can designate Franchise and Transition Players
This is the first day teams can start designating their potential free agents with either the franchise tag or transition tag. They can use each of their tags on one player and NFL teams will have until 4 PM EST on March 2nd to make that decision.
Feb. 17-23 - NFL Scouting Combine
This is the premiere showcase for all the athletes hoping to take that next step in their career. All the top draft picks usually attend this week in Indianapolis.
March 7-10 – Teams can start contacting unrestricted free agents
There is a three day period where NFL teams may contact unrestricted free agents however a new contract can’t be officially signed until after 4 PM EST on March 10 when the 2015 league year officially begins.
April 20- Panthers can being offseason workout programs
This is the first day that the Carolina Panthers can officially being offseason workout programs with players currently under contract. Any team with a new head coach can begin theirs on April 6th.
April 30-May 2 - NFL Draft
The NFL Draft will take place in Chicago this year with the first round on Thursday night, Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday night and the draft concluding on Saturday. The Panthers have the 25th pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
