The NFL offseason is usually a time for players to recover from the past season and get some time to relax.
This may not be the case for Carolina Panthers’ Thomas Davis, who has been a busy man the past few months. During Super Bowl weekend he was announced the winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.
Then at last month’s NFL Draft he had the chance to announce the organization’s first round selection of Shaq Thompson.
Davis will be able to add pace car driver to the list as he will be driving the car at next weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. According to NBCSports.com, he will join a list of NFL players who have served as honorary pace car drivers that includes Robert Griffin III, Jordy Nelson, Jason Witten and Julian Edelman. Even last season, teammate Luke Kuechly got the chance to drive the pace car for the Sprint All-Star Race.
