- There was no really surprises with the Carolina Panthers first injury report after practice on Wednesday. Cornerback Josh Norman continues to work his way through the concussion protocol after suffering a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the final preseason game. Barring any kind of setback, Norman should be ready to go on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- One player that likely won’t be on the field Sunday will be defensive tackle Star Lotulelei. The former first round pick has been dealing with a foot injury for almost the entire preseason. This is the same foot he injured prior to the Panthers playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks last year. He unfortunately re-aggravated it during training camp and has not been able to get back on the field.
- Meanwhile, center Ryan Kalil looks to have a much better chance of playing as he works his way back from a knee injury suffered against the Miami Dolphins. He sat out the last two preseason games and was a limited participant Wednesday. The veteran is one of the most valuable players on this offense and is the key to the success of this offensive line.
