- The only change in terms of status for players was Nate Chandler did not practice on Thursday after being limited in practice on Wednesday. The Carolina Panthers could be light at offensive tackle against the Jaguars if Chandler is not able to go. This may only become a pressing issue if Ryan Kalil is not able to play, which doesn’t look to be the case. If Kalil is not able to play, Mike Remmers would replace him and rookie Daryl Williams would get the start. This would mean that the team would have no backup offensive tackles and guard Amini Silatolu would probably be the player to step in.
- The depth at cornerback does not look like it will be an issue as Josh Norman continues to practice and make progress through the concussion protocol. The other cornerback on the list, Teddy Williams, suffered a groin injury in the final preseason game but he has practiced in full this week and should be able to go with no restrictions.
- One player that seems to be a long shot to play at this point would be Star Lotulelei, who is dealing with a foot injury. This is the same foot he injured at the end of last season and I would expect the Panthers to err on the side of the caution with working the former first round pick back onto the field.
