  • The injury list is much longer than it was a week ago for the Carolina Panthers. While they had six players not practice, one player who has been out for a while got back on the practice field. Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei has been dealing with a foot injury almost from the start of training camp. It forced him to miss the entire preseason as well as last week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The hope is that he will be ready to go for Week 2 against the Houston Texans. It will be interesting to see how he responds to being on the practice field the rest of the week.
  • The team was without both their backup offensive tackles for practice on Wednesday as Nate Chandler and Daryl Williams were both out. Chandler missed last week’s game with the knee injury while Williams suffered his during the game and is expected to be out two to four weeks. If Chandler is not able to suit up, this could become a problem for the Panthers as they will only have two healthy tackles (Mike Remmers and Michael Oher). If the need arises, expect guard Amini Silatolu to step in.
  • The injury that is on everyone’s radar is middle linebacker Luke Kuechly, who is working through the concussion protocol. Kuechly was on the practice field but only in a baseball cap. Coach Ron Rivera said during his press conference that Kuechly tried to do more than was allowed and he “had to be reeled back in.”
