- As expected, the Carolina Panthers will be without defensive end Jared Allen on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran pass rusher has been dealing with a back injury for the majority of the week that kept him out of practice. The team will turn to Wes Horton, who was cut two weeks ago, and Kony Ealy as the starters with Mario Addison and Ryan Delaire working into the game.
- The bigger concern for the Panthers may be at the offensive tackle position. The team has already ruled out rookie Daryl Williams for this game and the primary back up Amini Silatolu is questionable for Sunday. Silatolu had practiced in full on Wednesday but then was limited on Thursday and Friday. If there is any concern about his availability, it would not be surprising to see the team call up David Foucalt again for this game like they did in Week 4 against the Bucs.
- The team also will be without back up linebacker A.J. Klein who hasn't been cleared from the concussion protocol. The coaching staff was planning on keeping Luke Kuechly on a snap count and dividing up the work between him and Klein. However, the team may need the star linebacker to play a little more than expected with Klein not available.
