Carolina Panthers' Graham Gano Wins NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

On Thursday, Graham Gano was awarded the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month award for his performance in November.

The Carolina Panthers have added another award to their trophy case for the 2015 season as kicker Graham Gano won NFC Special Teams Player of the Month award. This is the third time a Panthers' player has been awarded a Player of the Month award with Josh Norman winning NFC Defensive Player of the Month in September and defensive tackle Kawann Short winning the same award in October.

Gano had an impressive November leading the league in field goals made (15) and field goals attempted (17) for the month as well as connecting on 17 of 18 extra point attempts. These were not exactly chip shots either as he was nine of 10 on field goals over 40 yards.

The only real blemish on Gano's stat line for the month was that missed extra point in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. However, he did make up for it with a game winning field goal in overtime against the Colts.

The Panthers' kicker has been busy this year as he is tied for third in field goals attempted (29) but is second in field goals made (25). These are not easy kicks either as almost half of them (12) have been over 40 yards.

Gano joined the Panthers a little over halfway through the 2012 season and has been as consistent as they come in the NFL converting on 87 out of 103 field goal attempts.
