Notes

  • The Carolina Panthers have already ruled two players out for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints: defensive end Mario Addison and cornerback Charles Tillman. The injury that generates more concern has to be Tillman, who has missed the past two games, and the Panthers have struggled a bit at the nickel position. The team has had to move Bene Benwikere to the outside and move Colin Jones to replace Benwikere. The Panthers did sign Cortland Finnegan on Monday but he has been out of football all season and should be on a limited snap count.
  • The team is certainly more well equipped to handle the Addison injury, who is dealing with an ankle injury. The Panthers got Charles Johnson back on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys and still have Jared Allen and Kony Ealy. I would expect Ryan Delaire to be active for this game with Addison out.
  • The offense should be back to full strength as Philly Brown is listed as probable and should be available for this game after missing the past two games with a shoulder injury suffered in practice. It is going to be worth watching how the snaps are divided between Brown and Devin Funchess, who has played well in Brown's absence.
