The Carolina Panthers knew coming in they would be without two key players on defense but will have a free agent acquisition from Monday active.

Notes

  • The Carolina Panthers will be without cornerback Charles Tillman for the third straight game however they hope the addition of Cortland Finnegan will help minimize the loss. The team has said he will share some time with Colin Jones at nickelback while Bene Benwikere starts on the outside in place of Tillman.
  • The team will also be without defensive end Mario Addison, who is out with an ankle injury. The team is much more well-equipped to deal with this injury as Ryan Delaire is active and will replace Addison. The undrafted rookie had two sacks in his first game as a Panther but has only had a half sack over the past six games.
  • The team has Philly Brown for the first time in the past two weeks which means Brenton Bersin is inactive for today's game. It is going to be interesting to see how the coaching staff breaks up the playing time between Brown and Devin Funchess, who has played well in place of Brown.
  • There was a chance rookie Cameron Artis-Payne could have been active for this game as Ron Rivera talked about lightening Jonathan Stewart's workload the rest of the year. However, he will be out for today's game and the team may use Fozzy Whittaker more to help Stewart.
