Notes

  • As expected, the Carolina Panthers have ruled running back Jonathan Stewart out for Sunday's game against the NY Giants. There really was no chance of him playing as Ron Rivera has been pretty clear they were going to hold him out. This opens up an opportunity for Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne to see significant work, something that hasn't happened yet this year.
  • The biggest positive from the injury report was that both tight Greg Olsen and cornerback Charles Tillman were listed as probable. Both players are dealing with knee injuries but practiced in full on Friday after being limited on Thursday. If Tillman plays, this will be his first game since Week 10 and his return couldn't be at a more perfect time as the team lost Bene Benwikere for the year last week against the Falcons.
  • The other two injuries worth noting is David Mayo, who has been ruled out, and safety Colin Jones, who is doubtful. Both players play signficant roles on special teams and if Jones is not able to play, the Panthers' could struggle containing Dwayne Harris.
