Carolina Panthers' Week 15 Inactives

The Carolina Panthers are going to be without their starting running back Jonathan Stewart due to a foot injury but get a key player on defense back today against the New York Giants.

  • This could be the toughest game for the Carolina Panthers they have had all season because it will be the first time they will be without Jonathan Stewart. The Panthers' running back was second in the league in rushing attempts and third in rushing yards entering Week 15. The team will now turn to Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne, along with Mike Tolbert, to fill the void left by the absence of Stewart. These three backs have only carried the ball only 75 times this season and this is a major question mark entering today.
  • The biggest positive though is that cornerback Charles Tillman will be returning to the field for the first time since Week 10. The Panthers' secondary has been hit hard by injury and the return couldn't come back at a better time with Bene Benwikere out for the year with a fractured leg. I would expect that recently signed Robert McClain, who is active today, will also see some work to spell Tillman.
  • The special teams unit though will be without key players with Colin Jones and David Mayo inactive today with injuries. The fact that Jones is also inactive raises the question of who is the backup for Cortland Finnegan and I could see Teddy Williams stepping in if the need arises.
