- The Carolina Panthers added a new name to the injury report after linebacker Thomas Davis missed practice due to an illness. This sounds like the same illness that kept Ryan Kalil out of practice yesterday. It certainly doesn't appear like anything that would keep him out Sunday as Kalil was back on the practice field today.
- The team also got safety Kurt Coleman back on the practice field Thursday after he suffered a foot sprain against the Falcons. The team was hoping to get him some work yesterday however with the wet weather the coaching staff decided not to test it on the wet practice field.
- The likelihood of Jonathan Stewart playing Sunday took a major hit when he sat out practice for the second consecutive day this week. He is out of the walking boot and Ron Rivera said today that he continues to work on the treadmill. Yesterday, he said that Stewart would be considered questionable if he had to give a designation and didn't sound as optimistic today. I would expect the team to err on the side of caution and hold Stewart out this week with the understanding that a healthy Stewart is vital to the team's playoff success.
- One player who is likely to play after missing the practices this week is Ted Ginn Jr.. He is listed as having a knee injury and Rivera said he has no concern about Ginn's availability this week. It certainly sounds like he is giving a veteran a little more time to rest up in the latter part of the season.
