Carolina Panthers' Cam Newton Ties Two NFL Record Against the Bucs

Cam Newton has had an incredible season leading the Carolina Panthers to the NFL's best record entering Week 17. In the first half against the Tampa Bay Bucs, he made the 2015 season a record tying one by tying a record set by a Hall of Fame quarterback. He wasn't done there as he tied another NFL record in the second half.

The Carolina Panthers have had one of the most prolific offenses this year and that has been thanks to quarterback Cam Newton. The franchise quarterback is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league because of his ability to not only beat defenses deep with his arm but get out of the pocket and beat teams with his legs.

In the final regular season game of the year, Newton tied Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young with 31 games with at least one passing and one rushing touchdown. The impressive part is that Newton has done in less than half the number of games that it took Young to achieve this feat, according to NFL's Director of NFC Communication, Randall Liu.

This season alone, Newton has accomplished this feat six times with five of them coming in the first eight games of the year.

However, Newton wasn't done there as he scored a second rushing touchdown in the second half against the Bucs and tied Young for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 43. He now has 10 rushing touchdowns on the season and is one of six players this year with double digit rushing touchdowns. The other five are all running backs.
