Carolina Panthers Have Ruled Jared Allen Out for NFC Conference Championship

The Carolina Panthers have decided to rule Jared Allen out for Sunday's contest against the Arizona Cardinals. A decision the defensive end doesn't agree with.

During Ron Rivera's press conference on Friday, he said that Jared Allen would be inactive for the Carolina Panthers game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Allen suffered a broken bone in his foot against the Seattle Seahawks but was able to finish the game. He missed practice on Wednesday but was a limited participant on Thursday.

However it doesn't appear as all parties agree with the decision. Joe Person of the the Charlotte Observer tweeted that while Allen respects the decision, he doesn't agree with it. He believes that would be 100% and would be effective against the Cardinals.

The Panthers will now turn to second-year defensive end Kony Ealy to jumpstart a pass rush that hasn't generated many sacks as of late. Charles Johnson did get one on Russell Wilson last week, however that was the first sack since Thanksgiving for the top three defensive ends (Allen, Ealy and Johnson).

The team will also have Ryan Delaire active against the Cardinals to take Allen's spot on the roster.
