Some members of the Carolina Panthers were on hand at Clemson's Pro Day to get a closer look at some prospects. This isn't the last time they will see at least one prospect, Kevin Dodd, who is scheduled for an official visit next Wednesday according to Charlotte Observers' Jonathan Jones.
The Clemson Tigers have two pass rushers who are expected to go in the first round with Shaq Lawson getting a great deal of attention. However, Dodd is an intriguing player who had 12.5 sacks his final season at the collegiate level. There is some concern with Dodd though as he has not shown this type of production over a longer period of time.
This certainly could benefit the Panthers who will be picking near the end of the first round with the 30th pick. While defensive end is a need for this team, they don't necessarily have to rush Dodd onto the field with the return of Charles Johnson. They can allow him to develop and help ease him into the transition to the NFL.
However, watching this video from D. Orlando Ledbetter of the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution of Dodd at his Pro Day, he looks ready to make an impact as a rookie.
