Carolina Panthers Respond to Goose Gossage's Comments on Twitter

Carolina Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton continues to be a topic of discussion for the New York Yankees, this time by Hall of Famer Goose Gossage. The team decided to respond to the pitcher's comments on Twitter Wednesday.

Hall of Famer Goose Gossage, who is known to be outspoken, was asked by Kevin Kernan of the New York Post about a number of topics about baseball.

The famous pitcher, who is a guest instructor for the Yankees at spring training, certainly didn't shy away about what is wrong with the game today and said, "It’s a shame, it breaks my heart to see the direction this game is going. What, do we want a bunch of Cam Newtons running around?"

Well the Carolina Panthers decided to respond to Gossage's comments with this tweet on Wednesday.

This is not the first time Cam Newton has been discussed by the NY Yankees recently. Last month, the team decided to use Newton's press conference after Super Bowl 50 as the "wrong way" to handle media and compared him with Seattle SeahawksRussell Wilson.

Jason Zillo, the Yankees' executive director of communications said about Newton's press conference, "“That’s something everybody should see. It’s made more impactful when you parlay it with what the quarterback [Wilson] did 12 months prior in the exact same position after throwing an interception at the goal line.”

It is probably safe to say the Panthers' quarterback won't be taking in any Yankees' games this season.
