Report: Carolina Panthers' Shaq Thompson Involved in Car Accident

According to a report by Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Carolina Panthers' linebacker Shaq Thompson was involved in a car accident over the weekend.

On Sunday morning, Carolina PanthersShaq Thompson was in a car accident in Weddington, N.C. according to Black and Blue Review. The Panthers' former first round pick was not injured; however, former Duke Blue Devil Anthony Boone suffered serious injuries but not considered life-threatening.

Bill Voth wrote about the incident:

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident occurred Sunday at 7:45 a.m. in Weddington, N.C.

Boone and Thompson, who don't know each other, were driving in the opposite direction on Potter Road when Thompson crossed the centerline. Both drivers tried to swerve, but their cars collided head-on.

Thompson was not injured, but he was cited for driving left of center. According to a police official, alcohol was involved, but it wasn't a factor, so Thompson was below the legal limit.

The Panthers drafted Thompson in the first round in the 2014 NFL Draft and he finished with 50 tackles, one sack and two passes defended in 14 games in his first season with the team.
