The return of Kelvin Benjamin on the practice field is a welcomed sight for this Carolina Panthers' offense and while he is still limited to individual drills, he is not holding anything back when he is practicing.
The Panthers' number one wide receiver was asked if he was gun shy at all with those first couple of cuts and he said, "Not at all. I try not to baby it and go hard and whatever the route is, I try to trust in the process."
Benjamin has been busy over the past nine months trying to recover and rehab from a torn ACL suffered during training camp last year. The third-year wide receiver had big expectations last year after a stellar rookie season where he finished with 73 receptions, 1,008 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He is looking to pick up right where he left off before his knee injury.
He said on Tuesday that he is past the point of thinking about it and is going full speed on his knee. He was asked about whether or not he had given any thought to wearing a knee brace. "They recommended it but I feel good without it," Benjamin said. "I think a brace would be a mind thing."
