Carolina Panthers Sell Out Fan Fest, Apologize for Ticket System

Due to overwhelming attendance at the Carolina Panthers Fan Fest in 2015, the team decided to issue tickets to the event for the first time this year. Once again there was a high demand for the event and it put a strain on the website and caused frustration for a number of fans.

The Carolina Panthers popularity continues to grow as evident by the fact that in a couple of hours 60,000 tickets were reserved for their Fan Fest at Bank of America Stadium on August 5th, according to the team's site

This was the first year the Panthers have issued tickets for the event due to the large crowds that came out last year and by issuing tickets were hoping to be a little more organized and prepared for the crowds this year.

However, this created a new set of problems as the website could not handle the amount of traffic it did on Wednesday.

Phil Youtsey, executive director of ticketing and sponsorship, said: "Our intent all along was to keep this event available and open to the public as in years past. We apologize for any difficulties that were encountered during the ticket acquisition process. Due to the overwhelming demand the ticket system was put under extreme stress and orders were processed slower than usual. We’ll continue to look for ways to improve going forward."

Gates will open for Fan Fest at 6 PM on August 5th with practice beginning at 7:30. The night will end with a performance by Sol Fusion and a firework show.
