--QB Jake Delhomme returns home to Louisiana to face the Saints coming off a rough outing against the Titans. Delhomme threw for more than 350 yards and had two touchdowns, but also fumbled twice - one on a quarterback-center exchange and the other on a blindside sack. He should have more success against the Saints.
--RB Stephen Davis was limited to 20 yards on 11 carries and lost his cool in the second half when he pushed a Tennessee defensive lineman in the back after a play, drawing a 15-yard penalty. The Panthers went away from the running game after falling behind 27-3 at halftime. Davis should respond with a better game this Sunday against the Saints. He ran for a season-high 150 yards against them just three weeks ago.
--RB DeShaun Foster had 30 all-purpose yards and a fumble that was returned for 32 yards for a touchdown by Keith Bullock.
--LB Dan Morgan suffered a concussion on the second play from scrimmage and did not return. His status for this week's game has not yet been determined.
--RB Nick Goings suffered a concussion late in the fourth quarter after scoring a touchdown. His status for this week's game has not yet been determined.
--LB Brian Allen injured his groin in the second half and left Sunday's game. His status for this week has not been determined.
--WR Steve Smith now has two consecutive 100-yard receiving games - the only two this season for Carolina. That should help his contract negotiations.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I had no visions of going undefeated. I didn't want to lose a game like that. We go into every game expecting to win. The reality is that it doesn't happen much." -- Panthers coach John Fox.
