Panther Player Notes

WR Muhsin Muhammad is expected to return to action this Sunday against Houston after sitting out last Sunday's game against New Orleans with post-concussion symptoms.

--LB Dan Morgan suffered a concussion on Sunday for the second straight week and it would seem unlikely he'll play this week against the Houston Texans and risk another injury. The often-injured Morgan has had trouble staying on the field this season. If Brian Allen is healthy, he would likely start at outside linebacker and Will Witherspoon would move inside to start at middle linebacker in place of Morgan.

--LB Brian Allen did not play Sunday because of a groin injury, but the Panthers hope to get him back this week.

--TE Kris Mangum briefly left Sunday's game with a chest bruise following a violent hit by Saints safety Jay Bellamy.

--SS Colin Branch left Sunday's game with an irregular heartbeat, but the Panthers don't believe it will be a problem. It was the first time the team's fourth-round draft pick had been activated this season. He was activated because five players were out with injuries.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "The game was on the line and you have to dig deep to find it and come up with a play. They had a tight end wing and a fullback on my side so it was my play to go in and disrupt the whole play and get in there and create some havoc. And that is what I did." -- Panthers DE Julius Peppers on his hit on Deuce McAllister in overtime which created a fumble. The Panthers recovered and drove the length of the field for the game-winning field goal.
