Two Down for the Year

<P>As if blowing a 4th quarter lead to winless Washington wasn't bad enough, the Panthers found out on Monday that they will play out the year without a pair of starters.

As expected, running back Tshimanga Biakabutuka is done for the year with a broken right foot. He underwent an operation Sunday night. Guard Kevin Donnalley is also headed for the injured reserve list with an ACL tear in his right knee. Coach George Seifert says that Richard Huntley will replace Biakabutuka in the line-up and Leander Jordan will take Donnalley's place.

Linebacker Hannibal Navies had surgery today on his broken right arm, he'll be out a minimum of six weeks.

In fact, things aren't good for the linebacking corps no matter how you look at it, as Dan Morgan (leg) and Kory Minor (knee) will be out again this week when the Panthers host the Jets. Also remaining on the side, defensive back Deveron Harper (hamstring). The one Panther who could return to action this week is defensive end Jason Peter, but that remains to be seen as the week goes on.
