KEY MATCH UP: Panther CB vs. Patriots 5 WR set

"I know that for us to win I'm going to have to play a large role because just the Patriots do like to go to that five receiver set and that means I'm going to be on the field a lot, but I like that," said Wesley. "But I'm not worried because I know our coaches are going to do a great job of getting us ready."

< P>One of the key match-ups to look at in the Super Bowl will be when the New England Patriots are on offense and they go to the empty set with QB Tom Brady the only player in the back field and a five wide receiver set. The Panthers will have to match-up with their dime package and will be looking to use cornerbacks Reggie Howard, Ricky Manning, Terry Cousin, Dante Wesley and Safeties Mike Minter and Deon Grant with Grant line-up and covering a wide receiver one-on-one when they are in man coverage. Grant has shown that he has the ability to cover a receiver one-on-one but is better in zone coverage. But the biggest match-up that the Patriots will look to take advantage of is whoever second-year cornerback Dante Wesley is covering, and Wesley knows this.

"I know that for us to win I'm going to have to play a large role because just the Patriots do like to go to that five receiver set and that means I'm going to be on the field a lot, but I like that," said Wesley. "But I'm not worried because I know our coaches are going to do a great job of getting us ready."

The Panthers defensive backs who many people have be critical of will have to come-up big in the Super Bowl if the Panthers will win the game, and this will be a key match-up.
