MLB Morgan heart of Panthers D

"I think the Super Bowl is going to come down to mistakes and who makes the most plays, just like any game," said Morgan. "These turnovers have been really big for us in the playoffs. You put up more points any time you create turnovers. It also puts doubt in the other team's mind. So we need to continue doing that."

MLB Dan Morgan is the heart and soul of the Carolina Panthers defense and had 13 tackles and an interception in the Panthers 14-3 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game last Sunday. Morgan believes that the Panthers will have to force turnovers to win the Super Bowl. The Panthers are plus-eight in turnover ratio in the postseason.

"I think the Super Bowl is going to come down to mistakes and who makes the most plays, just like any game," said Morgan. "These turnovers have been really big for us in the playoffs. You put up more points any time you create turnovers. It also puts doubt in the other team's mind. So we need to continue doing that."

Morgan also knows that the defense will have to put pressure on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and make him do things that he doesn't like to do.

"He gets the ball away quick," said Morgan. "It seems like he knows where all his reads are at all times. If his first read's not there, he knows right where to go with the second read. He's a great quarterback and he'll be a good test for us."

Morgan believes in what head coach John Fox is preaching that this is just a road game against the New England Patriots and that it is a business trip.

"Any little kid dreams about playing in the Super Bowl one day," said Morgan. "Now the opportunity is here and now we have to go win it. Coach Fox always preaches to us to be the same person in the way we approach every game."
