Delhomme the leader of Panthers offense

"I'll take Jake's ability to make plays over any other characteristic a quarterback can have," said Carolina Panther WR Muhsin Muhammad. "You've got some guys who are physical specimens and they get out there and they struggle. Jake is probably the exact opposite. He's come into the League and really had success because I think he's willing to take some chances. He knows when to take some chances and he's doing a good job of managing this football team."

Since coming in during the season opener in Jacksonville, quarterback Jake Delhomme has lead the Carolina Panthers offense and has lead the team all the way to the Super Bowl. Delhomme teammates know that Jake can make plays for the team.

Muhammad has been impressed with Delhomme ability to make plays on the run.

"He has a knack for finding a way to complete a ball when you think he is going to be sacked, or there is too much pressure, or that wow, he can't get that ball in there, or why did he throw that ball. There are a lot of different things people come up with but he just finds a way to make plays," said Muhammad.

Delhomme has three different wide receivers that he gets the ball to all they are all different types of receivers they are Muhammad, Steve Smith and Ricky Proehl.

"Smith is a speedy guy. He's a fast receiver. He's our big-play guy. He's going to stretch defenses and catch the bombs. I'm the physical guy. I'm not as much finesse but the physical guy who is going to block, and I do a lot of the dirty work," said Muhammad. "Every now and then I catch some balls down the field. Ricky is a guy that is scrappy. He blocks for us and comes in and catches some big-time third downs and he loosens up the coverage, and every now and then when guys are not paying attention to him, he'll make some big plays, too. I think we all complement each other pretty well."
