Cat Tracks at Miami

<P>The win against Minnesota may have unrealistically raised expectations for this club, but, they've done enough on their own to cost themselves games. Now, the question is: is this team giving up?

Chris Weinke got a break on his first pass, as an interception was overturned on a roughing the quarterback call. But, he did have one run back for a score. Dameyune Craig showed little in his first significant action before joining Weinke on the sidelines with an injury. CAT TRACKS: 1 PAW (out of 4)

Not enough carries for the running backs in this one. Richard Huntley gained 49 yards on just 12 carries…the key number being just 12 carries. The quarterbacks ran for 36 yards. CAT TRACKS: 1 ½ PAWS

Muhsin Muhammad had one of his better days (volume-wise) in recent weeks, catching 4 passes, but they accounted for just 45 yards. Isaac Byrd had a 42 yard catch…as the Panthers did throw the ball downfield a little more. CAT TRACKS: 1 ½ PAWS

Not a particularly memorable performance for the offensive line. They gave up 4 sacks, but, two of them were after things had been decided. The also opened enough holes for the running backs to gain more than 4 yards per carry. CAT TRACKS: 2 PAWS

This is a unit that seems to be coming around. They held the Dolphins to just 59 yards rushing and are beginning to get a little push on opposing offensive lines. They also got the only interception. CAT TRACKS: 3 PAWS

Dan Morgan was a welcome return to the unit, as they helped the line control the Dolphins running game. CAT TRACKS: 2 ½ PAWS

This was one of their weaker performances of the year. The Dolphins gained 278 yards through the air as Jay Fielder hit 20-33. They also gave up completions of 61, 40 and 28 yards. CAT TRACKS: 1 PAW

Another big day from punter Todd Sauerbrun averaged over 52 yards per kick. John Kasay missed only a 51 yard attempt out of three and they got a blocked field goal. CAT TRACKS: 3 PAWS

How could Dameyune Craig not gotten any snaps with the first unit during practice? Shouldn't you be prepared for any eventually? They did call a few more deep passes. The defensive front is showing some improvement, but are they losing the team as a whole? CAT TRACKS: 1 PAW
