The Carolina Panthers have signed defensive end Gillis Wilson and put John Milem on the injured reserve list. They have also released linebacker Jeff Posey.
Willis, a fifth round draft choice of the Panthers in 2000, was waived in training camp and had been on the New York Giants practice squad.
Milem, a defensive end from Lenoir Rhyne, played two games after being claimed on waivers from San Francisco and sustained a season-ending knee injury in last week's game. Posey, who was signed in October, had played on special teams and saw brief action on defense.
In another move, the Panthers signed Anthony Bright to the practice squad. He was signed as a free agent during training camp before being waived.
