Day two of the Senior Bowl week, and the Carolina Panthers have been talking to a few players. Two of them, Defensive Ends / Tackles, and a Big, Possession WR who can block. Is someone making preparations to lose a certain WR who wears #87? Here are the Players the Panthers looked at today:

Matt Roth - DE, 6' 3", 262 lbs., IOWA

Roth is the kind of guy the Panthers want. A relentless player that has an unbelievable motor, he never stops hustling and never gives up in pursuit. He's a fiery player that can get in trouble for being over-zealous. He's got a mean streak and has an old-school style game. Outlook - end of 1st, 2nd round. Scout.com Rating: 6th DE

Vincent Jackson - WR, 6' 4", 223 lbs., NORTHERN COLORADO

A big WR who runs the 40 in around 4.5. Has great leaping ability and long arms to make plays downfield. Catches passes in traffic and is a decent blocker. Not a great route runner, and not really that fast as far as WRs go. Outlook - 4th, 5th round. Scout.com Rating: 17th WR

Johnathan Babineaux - DT, 6' 2", 276 lbs., IOWA

Babineaux has exceptional speed and burst for a defensive tackle, and would be a great fit with the Panthers defensive scheme. Is very quick and has good awareness. Had 2 season ending injuries in his time at Iowa, and his size is a major concern. Had a great Senior season and looked like one of the best in the nation at times. Can play DE. Outlook - 3rd, 4th round. Scout.com Rating: 3rd DE

Ronald Fields - DT, 6' 2", 320 lbs., MISSISSIPPI STATE

Purely a run-stuffing DT that's not a great pass rusher. Keeping in mind the Panthers struggled against the run in the first half of the 2004 season, wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for them to add a guy with his kind of forte. Very strong, and will push offensive linemen into the backfield. can disrupt plays with his girth and strength, but not much of a pass rusher. Has very poor conditioning and is inconsistent. Outlook: 4th, 5th rounder. Scout.com Rating: 13th DT
