The Panthers recently completed a five-year contract with WRFX-FM, owned by Clear Channel Communications. The team also decided not to renew the contract of long-time play-by-play announcer Bill Rosinski at the end of the season, but instead chose to start fresh with former UNC basketball color analyst Mick Mixon. Mixon worked along-side Woody Durham broadcasting Tarheel basketball games for the last 16 years.
"I am excited to be joining the Panthers organization and look forward to working with the coaches, players, and fans of the team," Mixon said. Announcing NFL football in my native state has always been a goal, and I am thrilled with the opportunity."
