Brun Got RunGood move for the team. It sends a message to the team that if you screw-off, don't take things seriously, then you won't be a panther. It also shows how if you aren't happy to be a panther, you don't have to do much to get out of here… or did Kerry Collins already set that precedence? I think Baker will be a good punter, and will grow into a solid player here. Perhaps he doesn't have Todd's leg, but he's bound to be more of a solid person.
I guess Ricky Proehl is our new place holder? Which makes me think, shouldn't we have Weinke or a QB be our holder in case we want to have a little razzle-dazzle special teams play here and there? What am I talking about… razzle-dazzle and panthers in the same sentence. Somebody stop me or I'm going to take this comedy act on the road! Watch-out Carrot Top!
Players the slipped through our fingersI think it's good that we don't have many players we can go around the league and say, "geez, we had him, cut him, and he went on to greatness". Shayne Graham would be one of them, although we aren't doing bad with Kasay. Moose could be that next player… or could be the next in the long line of players that left here and went on to be lost in the sea of mediocrity.
Painful StuffMy wife has been a little under the weather lately, and it's affected my work on the site. Plus, it seems like I'm trying to build a sandcastle underwater with everything I touch. I fix one thing and another facet breaks down. You ever have those months/years?
Radio HijinksMike and I taped a radio show last week, but we don't have a way to deliver it to you. It's too big to stream, and the service we have been trying to use KEEPS giving us errors (see above). As SOON as we can secure a reliable means of delivery, we'll let you listen to our ramblings… all 5 of you that care to do so.
Mike WahleGood things happening at Panthers.com. They are starting to open up a few things to the fans, and that being using the various message boards around to ask questions to some of the players. We had that privilege to do so with Mike Wahle, and the article will be posted next week on Panthers.com.
Movie of the weekWe saw "Along came Polly" on DVD over the weekend. The film features two of my favorite actors, Ben Stiller, (meet the parents, dodgeball) and Philip Seymour Hoffman, (Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley). The word "shart" has been added to my vocabulary. I'll let you watch the movie and figure that one out. 3 out of 5 stars.
The movie of the week is NOT Star Wars Episode III because I have not seen it yet. See "Painful Stuff" above.
