Jenkins lets the Dark Side get to him(oh I forgot, Star Wars was LAST week… my bad.)
"I hate him. Everybody says I'm supposed to be polite when I talk to (the media), but I hate him. He talks too much. He doesn't make any sense. He's fat. He's sloppy. He acts like he's the best thing since sliced bread. He's ugly. He stinks. His mouth stinks. His breath stinks and basically, his soul stinks, too. Too many people can't have personalities like that and survive in life. I don't know how he does it. I guess because he's big and he went to Miami." --Panthers DT Kris Jenkins on his hatred of Oakland Raiders' DT Warren Sapp.
Harsh words. If you heard the audio, it sounded tongue-in-cheek. That's how I took it. Really though, it seems like he was trying to deflect all the sudden negative attention he'd received because of his being overweight and out of shape.
I admire Jenkins for coming out and telling everyone that he took to drinking and really didn't care about keeping in shape during the season and most of the offseason. Looking at him, it was evident.
We posted a story in October regarding Jenkins' attitude and effort, and we re-ran it last week with a few updates. Jenkins answered some of the questions we had in that article, and it was good to see he didn't skirt the issues. We'll have our eyes and ears open during summer camps and training camps to see if his rapport with the fans has improved as well.
Coach Fox is fine where he is. Where is he?"With the acquisitions we made in the offseason from free agency and the draft, I feel good about our depth at this point," coach John Fox said. "We've still got a long way to go and a lot of things to look at. But for no pads and the little bit that we've had to look at them, we're not wondering, 'What were we thinking when we acquired this guy?' We're fine for where we are right now."
Big Szoke is BACK!Several news outlets are reporting that WBT has re-hired Jim Szoke, and he will be back as the host of Countdown to Kickoff and as a third voice in the booth during the games as well. I always liked Szoke, and I'm glad he'll be back.
The A-Team should have high-tailed it to MexicoWhy didn't the A-Team sneak into Canada or Mexico? They would always disguise themselves and hide out in warehouses, while B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) would make a Tank out of a Pinto… heck, thousands of Mexicans sneak in here every day. You'd think they could have went down to old Mexico and started new lives pretty easily, then after 10 years come back to the USA with the new identities and be home-free.
And apparently, according to these emails I received, I can get cialis without any prescription. Who knew?
Congratulations to Christopher NelsonNelson won CMT's contest to be Vice President of the Dukes of Hazzard Institute. He'll get 100K for the "position", and his job duties include blogging on the CMT website about the show and making appearances at (speculation) bakeoffs and county fairs across the south. I would have applied, but you know, I couldn't break down Cooter's complex story arch like Nelson could.
Movie of The WeekAfter a long and painful deliberation, I am selecting "Serendipity" as this weeks' movie.
Starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsdale, this romantic semi-comedy, semi-drama centralizes on two people that meet briefly and fall in love, but decide to let fate take its course in their relationship. 10 years or so pass and they each embark to find the other. It's not a great movie, but it's one of those movies you watch to see what happens. 2.5 out of 5 stars. It is what it is.
