Cory Schlesinger (broken left fibula) worked with the scout team and on special teams but it is uncertain if he will be ready to resume his lead-blocker role in the Lions game Sunday against Carolina.
QB Jeff Garcia (broken fibula and sprained ankle) did some limited
throwing in practice Wednesday but will not be available to play against the
WR Roy Williams (quadriceps) is not likely to play against Carolina,
although coach Steve Mariucci has not ruled him out.
PR/KR Eddie Drummond (shin, knee) says he feels considerably better but
has not been cleared to practice.
DE James Hall, who missed most of the past two games with a groin injury,
said he is still awaiting a diagnosis after seeing a specialist. He did not
practice Wednesday and remains uncertain for the Panthers game Sunday.
DeShaun Foster and fullback Brad Hoover - missing practice on Wednesday and
being listed as questionable, the Panthers have to keep an eye on cornerback
Chris Gamble, who is still bothered by an ankle injury. Gamble tried to play
last week but was limited by the injury and struggled keeping up with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin in the first half before being benched.
"It started bothering me a little bit so I told them I wanted to sit
out," Gamble said. "I didn't feel like I was able to move and jump and break
on the ball like I wanted to ... I told them to take me out."
Gamble said after the game he would be ready for Detroit, but he was held
out of practice on Wednesday.
Return man Rod Smart will probably not play Sunday because of a groin
strain, leaving Jamal Robertson to return kickoffs.
Also, linebacker Vinny Ciurciu returned to practice Wednesday, although
he is listed as questionable with a knee injury.
Quarterback Jake Delhomme did practice and will play Sunday despite a
