Panthers turn to Chryst for help

The Panthers filled their last remaining coaching staff vacancy today when they promoted former offensive quality control coach Geep Chryst to tight ends coach.

Chryst has experience in the role, as served as the Arizona Cardinals' tight ends coach from 1996-97. While with the San Diego Chargers in 1999-2000, Chryst served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Most recently, Chryst served as the quarterbacks coach for the Cardinals from 2001-03 before joining the Panthers in 2006.

During his career, Chryst has been an instrumental part of offenses that ranked in the top 10 in the league in rushing and passing six different times; three rushing and three passing.

Chryst has a bachelor's degree in history from Princeton and a master's degree in educational administration from Wisconsin. He was a linebacker for Princeton from 1981-84, and a tight end/longsnapper for the Orlando Thunder of the WLAF in 1992.
