Charlotte, N.C.- Peete He completed 21 of 32 passes for 310 yards and one touchdown, accumulating a quarterback rating of 107.6 for the game, with his second straight turnover-free performance. It was his first 300-yard passing game since 1992 - when he played for the Lions.
The Panthers have doubled their amount of wins this season and this gives them the groundwork and confidence that they will need to carry them throughout the remainder of this NFL season. Peete feels that confidence is important.
"That's a big deal to me," Peete said after the game. "This game is played with confidence. As long as you have that confidence going in, anything can happen. This team coming off last year was in desperate need of having some good things happen, especially in terms of confidence. Don't get me wrong, we have some tough ballgames coming up and we have a couple on the road the next two weeks. Two wins does not make a season. But this is something we can look at, and now we just have to put some games together and see what happens."
Peete's consistency and calm demeanor throughout the game helps to hold the team together and stay on top.
"I'm just trying to go out and be steady," said Peete. "That's all I'm trying to do. I'm trying not to put this team in bad situations throughout the course of the game, and just try to play consistent. If we can do that, our defense will continue to get better, as they showed today, and make plays for us."
