Panthers @ Packers News and Notes

The Carolina Panthers have never started a season 4-0, but could do it Sunday if they win against the Green Bay Packers who are 2-1 on the season.

Charlotte, NC - The Carolina Panthers have never started a season 4-0.

Despite being listed as doubtful on the injury report Muhsin Muhammad will not play against the Packers.  MLB Dan Morgan will be a game-time decision.

This could be another big game for Julius Peppers.  He will be lining up against Packers' back-up right tackle Earl Dotson, who has back problems.  Regular starter Mark Tauscher is injured.

The last time the Panthers played in Green Bay was the famous Steve Beuerlein QB sneak game.  One can only hope for similar results.

Look for the Panthers to take advantage of poor linebacker play from the Packers.  Wesley Walls could have a busy day.

If there's one internal thing Panther fans should worry about, it's the instability at kicker.  Let's hope the recently signed Shayne Graham can be the guy for the rest of the season.

Always be wary of Bret Favre.  Despite his neanderthal looks, he's a smart football player who can beat any team with his arm.  The Panthers have to use a ball-control offense to keep him off the field.

If the Panthers beat the Packers, look for the media to use the old "But the Packers were injured" excuse to dodge giving Carolina a little respect.
