Panthers @ Buc's News and Notes

Panthers Julius Peppers is appealing a four-game NFL suspension announced by his agent, after testing positive last week for a banned substance in a dietary supplement.

All 10 of Carolina's points came after 2 Tampa turnovers.  Unfortunately, Carolina committed 4 turnovers themselves.  Carolina's touchdown was the first time the Panthers scored on its first possession of the game.

Julius Peppers had another sack, bringing his league-leading total to 11.  The hearing for his ephedra-related suspension will be Tuesday.

Wesley Walls caught two passes to bring his career total to 429, moving him past Mike Ditka for 11th place among tight ends in all-time receptions.  Wesley left the game after a three-way hit.  In his post-game comments, John Fox said Walls may have a concussion.

The Panthers went 4 of 14 on third down conversions, while allowing Tampa to go 7 of 16.

The Bucs dominated time of possession, 35:53 to 24:07.

The Panthers did not record a first down in the second half until their seventh drive.
