Panthers make cuts, probably not finished

There were a few mild surprises today when the Panthers released their cut list, and they probably aren't finished making roster moves at this point.

The biggest surprises were seeing McClover, Brown, Fonoti and Holt released. The biggest surprises as far as making the team were WR Dominique Thompson, DE Hilee Taylor, S Nate Salley, CB C.J. Wilson and G Mackenzy Bernadeau.

Thompson will almost certainly be released once Steve Smith returns from his two week suspension, or if there is a receiver available in free agency that the staff feels is a better talent.

It's curious that the Panthers kept only 4 running backs / full backs; Jonathan Stewart, DeAngelo Williams, Nick Goings and Brad Hoover.
